*For those of you eating a gluten free diet because of a gluten intolerance/allergy to gluten or suffering from celiac disease please check the ingredients listed in my recipes carefully. Although many of my recipes are gluten free please make sure you double check your ingredients to check. I am not intolerant to gluten so am no expert but I still like to provide GF options, please fully read your packets at home before making this, thank you :)

** NOTES ON RAW FLOUR

Unlike regular wheat flour which IS NOT safe to eat raw, you CAN use raw almond and coconut flour in your no-bake recipes.

I have read lot on consuming raw almond and coconut flour and the evidence I have read has all said that this type of flour IS SAFE to consume raw. This is due to the heat pasteurising process where the almonds/coconuts are heated to 165C killing off all the bacteria from the flour.

If you would prefer to be 100% safe then you can simply follow these instruction to heat treat the flour again to make 100% sure you are killing off any bacteria that may be lingering.

TO HEAT TREAT THE FLOUR simply spread the flour onto a clean baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180C for 5 minutes. Allow the flour to cool and then you may use it in your no-bake recipes.

NEVER use regular wheat flour in your no-bake recipes if it has not been heat treated. Wheat flour has not been previously heat treated and contains harmful bacteria, salmonella and E. coli which can make you sick. So, when eaten raw or used in your no-bake recipes (without heat treating or cooking to kill the harmful bacterias away) it can cause severe abdominal cramps and diarrhoea.
