Hi, I’m trish and im really excited to be sharing my household recipes and top tips with you. Today I’ll be sharing a simple recipe for a homemade all purpose cleaner.

All Purpose Cleaner

There are many benefits of making your own products at home, it really is cost effective, you will be spending pennies rather than pounds, it’s easy to do and you decide what goes into it (most of which you will already have in your cupboards). There will be no added chemicals which makes it safer for you, your family and the environment.

A biggie for me though is that you are not constantly buying the plastic spray bottles and containers these products are sold in, by making your own you can keep reusing your old plastic containers and over time replace them with glass ones.

RECIPE FOR MULTI-PURPOSE CLEANER

200 ml distilled white vinegar

200 ml cooled boiled water

1 tsp liquid Castile soap*

Juice of 1/2 lemon (optional)

30 drops lemon essential oil

Combine all in a spray bottle. Shake before use.

Please Note: If you add lemon juice then cleaner will need to be kept in the fridge.

Suitable for all surfaces apart from marble or granite.

* Castile soap is a plant based product and worth investing in for natural living. It's so versatile. I use it in a lot of my homemade products. If you look online there are many "make your own" Castile soap recipes to make for a fraction of the cost. Time consuming but quite simple.

I look forward to sharing more DIY recipes and top tips with you soon.
