DIY Pamper Day Gifts

Make yourself a nice coffee or herbal tea and take some time to relax this Christmas.

This month I have two lovely DIY pamper day recipes that are ideal for gifts or to treat yourself when you feel like you need to slow down.

There’s nothing better than a homemade pamper gift to show how much you love somebody. Homemade gifts are such a thoughtful present. This time of year we are so busy rushing around it’s nice to just take some time to get creative in the kitchen with a DIY project.

DIY COFFEE AND SUGAR SCRUB

This face and body scrub really does work! I’ve added a before and after hand shot of the scrub and you can see the difference after just one time using it.

I started off using this as a hand scrub until I ran out of my daily face scrub so, I used this instead and I saw amazing results after one use! I’ve always had mild eczema behind my ears and on the top of my neck and i’m in the process of using this three times a week and have seen incredible results.

The mixture is very heavy and thick so you do need to wash it off well with a flannel and warm water but apart from that is 100% perfect.

I hope you love it and see the same results as I do.

(PLEASE DON’T USE THIS ON SEVERE ECZEMA OR BROKEN SKIN)

* I use ground coffee that I have already used to make coffee - see instructions

INGREDIENTS

Equal parts of ground coffee to sugar

Vegetable oil to combine

METHOD

  • Pour out your used ground coffee (excess coffee liquid removed - use the squished coffee remains only) onto a plate and allow it to dry out during the day and overnight (you can use fresh ground coffee that hasn’t been used also) I usually make a cafeteria of coffee for 4 cups and use the drained coffee after.

  • Weigh out the coffee once it has completely dried (dry for another day if it’s still wet) and add the same amount of sugar

  • Slowly add the vegetable oil until you have a thick mixture of scrub

  • Add a large blob of scrub to your hands and rub for 20 seconds, rinse off well. If your hands feel oily then wash them with a mild soap. Add some moisturiser for an added deep moisture.

  • Keep the scrub in the fridge for around a month, as it is made using fresh ingredients keep checking for any mould residue. If you see this then throw it out and make a new batch (mine have never grown any mould but as it’s a fresh recipe with no added preserves this can happen)

DIY ALOE VERA AND AVOCADO FACE PACK

This is such an amazing soft and refreshing face mask. I like to whizz this up, pop it on my face and neck and meditate for 20 minutes whilst it works it’s magic!

This face mask is so refreshing and leaves your skin feeling fab-u-lous!

INGREDIENTS

1 large slab of aloe vera (about one large leaf) Check out how to cut and prepare aloe vera HERE under the heading ‘How to remove the gel from the plant’

1 ripe avocado

METHOD

  • Simply blend the ingredients in a mini food processor until combined. It should look nice and creamy

  • Add the face mask to your face and neck and relax for 20 minutes (add some sliced cucumber to your eyes too)

Please note this will need to be used straight away or within the day as the avocado will start to brown after a while.

Here’s how you do it.
