Warm your winter heart

Looking to warm yourself from the inside out this winter?

Baked oat recipes, made to warm your winter heart

The best thing about colder and darker months are warming bowls of oats. I do love to eat oats all year round, in shakes and cold overnight oats during warmer months, but my favourite has to be warm oats eaten in the winter, to warm the heart. Snuggled up in a blanket by the fire is optional but highly recommended and the best thing to get you up out of bed on a cold and dark morning!

Oats are arguably the healthiest grain on the planet, a great source of fibre, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and they are also a low GI food, meaning they have a slow releasing source of energy, keeping you feeling fuller for longer.

Traditional oats are my go-to comfort bowl but I’ve been experimenting a lot over the past year with baked oats. I’ve had some really good results and have managed to replicate the texture of cake using regular oats. More luxurious than regular oats and made to make you feel good from the inside out. Baked oats are here to stay this winter and I have a special treat for you with five of my faves!

Below are my FIVE favourite baked oats recipes, I like to add toppings to make a special treat, these topping can be loaded with extra fats (from nut butters) and extra sugars from maple syrups and the occasional biscuit treat. You may wish to leave these out to make a healthier breakfast or enjoy them, as I do, for a really nice weekend breakfast or a tasty treat, loaded with all your favourite toppings, full of flavour, energy and yumminess!

I really hope you enjoy these baked oats as much as I do, BIG love, Jen xx
